David Tank

Meet the Author -- David Tank

David Tank teaches writing and mass communication at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Prior to becoming a full-time teacher, he was a newspaper and magazine editor, worked as senior writer for a major fraternal organization and directed the communication efforts of several not-for-profit organizations.

David decided to write the book "River of Hope: My Journey with Kathy in Search of Healing from Lou Gehrig’s Disease" after his wife, Kathy, passed away while battling Lou Gerhig's disease. His goal was to help others in similar situations recognize that there is hope.

His life-long interest in 3-D photography led to the publication of "Wisconsin Wildflowers in 3D." He is a member of the National Stereoscopic Association and collector of vintage stereoscopes.

The author is also a musician and songwriter. A music video of his song, "Hope is Like a River," written to accompany the audiobook edition of "River of Hope," can be viewed at YouTube.com.
