Meet the Author -- David Tank David Tank teaches writing and mass communication at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Prior to becoming a full-time teacher, he was a newspaper and magazine editor, worked as senior writer for a major fraternal organization and directed the communication efforts of several not-for-profit organizations. Before becoming a journalist and educator David was trained as a theologian and certified as a director of Christian education. He has been the editor of a number of religious periodicals and publications. David decided to write the book "River of Hope: My Journey with Kathy in Search of Healing from Lou Gehrig’s Disease" after his wife, Kathy, passed away while battling ALS. His goal was to help others in similar situations discover the likely causes of the disease and recognize that there is hope outside of the established medical system. His life-long interest in 3-D photography led to the publication of "Wisconsin Wildflowers in 3D" and "The Magic of 3D Photography." He is an award-winning member of the National Stereoscopic Association and a collector of vintage stereoscopes and 3D cameras. |
